Walking In Life
Romans 8:5 For those who live according to the flesh think about the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, about the things of the Spirit.
As a professing believer I thought I was living fully for God, however I did not truly understand what living in death and living for life meant until recently. So the thought of believing I was living for Him fully was a lie, but God and His mercy and loving-kindness is saving me from myself of destruction and is renewing me. The Holy Spirit placed in my heart to pray for freedom from living in torment of fear, worry and anxiety which has been apart of me for over 40 years. I began to pray what He placed in my heart.
As a believer I am not to be afraid! So as a confessing Christian I have a problem. I am not walking in the light I am walking in death. While praying what He placed in my heart changes began to occur that NO ONE CAN SOLVE OR HELP ME WITH. This is between me and God!
God has placed me in affliction and through this I am now being shown the destruction of living for my flesh.
Ever heard of when your going insane your experiencing God. Literally you feel like your going crazy!
Romans 8 talks about living in death or living in life and peace. The Holy Spirit brings life and peace!! I now understand to a deeper degree, as a believer in Jesus the Christ, I must DIE to my flesh daily and submit my will to the Holy Spirit. I am learning the reverential fear of the Lord and how many lies I have believed and lived by. I hope you experience how much you need the Holy Spirit because without Him you are dead. One must ask do you want to live in death or do you want to live in life and peace?
Learn of God and meditate (Psalm 1:2) on His Word. My life depends on knowing Jesus as the Christ personally each day. There are many of us who believe we are fully living for God and need nothing or very little changed or corrected, but this simply is untrue.
We as believers, by the power of the Holy Spirit are to put to death the deeds of the body. In other words, through the working of God's Holy Spirit, who only dwells in believers, the believer engages in the process of sanctification or growing in holiness.
As believers we are to set our minds on the things above not on the things on the earth (Colossians 3:2) It is important to note that the believer is not completely free from sin. Putting to death the deeds of the body is a continual process that the believer must engage in on a daily basis. The point is that one of the marks of a true believer is that he is daily putting to death the deeds of the body. When we put to death, or mortify, the deeds of the body we are walking in the power of the Holy Spirit. We are living in the hope of eternal life.
Romans 8:13 for if you live according to the flesh, you are going to die. But if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.
Colossians 3:5 Therefore, put to death what belongs to your worldly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desire, and greed, which is idolatry.
There is not a good or perfect Christian here on earth. Therefore each day we need to surrender our will to God's will (Luke 22:42). There is only living for our flesh or living for the Holy Spirit daily.
It is so viable that we read God's Word daily, ask for insight and wisdom (Proverbs 2), pray for eyes that see, ears to hear, and a heart that is teachable. The bible is life giving word to our spirit and soul.
I Peter 5:6-7 Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God, so that He may exalt you at the proper time, 7 casting all your care on Him, because He cares about you.
Proverbs 3:5-7 5 Trust in and rely confidently on the Lord with all your heart And do not rely on your own insight or understanding. 6 In all your ways know and acknowledge and recognize Him, And He will make your paths straight and smooth [removing obstacles that block your way]. 7 Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the Lord [with reverent awe and obedience] and turn [entirely] away from evil. 8 It will be health to your body [your marrow, your nerves, your sinews, your muscles - all your inner parts] And refreshment (physical well-being) to your bones.
Romans 8 - 1 Therefore there is now no condemnation [no guilty verdict, no punishment] for those who are in Christ Jesus [who believe in Him as personal Lord and Savior]. 2 For the law of the Spirit of life [which is] in Christ Jesus [the law of our new being] has set you free from the law of sin and of death. 3 For what the Law could not do [that is, overcome sin and remove its penalty, its power] being weakened by the flesh [man's nature without the Holy Spirit], God did: He sent His own Son in the likeness of sinful man as an offering for sin. And He condemned sin in the flesh [subdued it and overcame it in the person of His own Son],...... read the whole chapter
